Toggles the display of the current geometry object or selected objects as a subdivision surface.
Preview of the geometry as if it had been smoothed by the Subdivide SOP node. The tool creates an HDA that has a built-in Subdivide SOP as well as the ability to use vertex normals. All HDA parameters are preserved between tool runs.
Pressing the Parm Slider toggles smoothed display of two boundary edges connected by a single point.
For convenience, the Preview tool temporarily activates Smooth Shaded display mode, and Preview Wire activates Smooth Wire Shaded.
The preview can be ended by clicking the mouse or pressing Escape.
Sets the sharpness of selected edges for subdivision by modifying the value of the creaseweight vertex attribute.
If faces are selected, the boundary edges of the selection are used, which sometimes allows for faster specification of the crease area.
To see all edges with a creaseweight value greater than 0, run the tool without selecting anything. Under the hood, a value of -1 is simply assigned to the group, and the highlight type is set to All.
The Clear checkbox allows you to quickly remove the creaseweight attribute, clearing any sharpness across the entire surface.
The node remembers the last used crease value and automatically applies it the next time the tool is run.
