In Houdini, transforming selected components using standard Move, Rotate, and Scale tools creates an Edit SOP node. Disabling the Secure Selection viewer option allows you to select components while using handles, but this can cause inconvenience: already selected components may accidentally be grabbed and transformed again, slowing down the workflow.
To solve this issue, the Manipulator tool was created. It functions similarly to the standard tools but prevents accidental grabbing and transformation of selected components. This tool automatically disables Secure Selection, allowing components to be selected on the fly.
