Modeler Keymap

The plugin comes with its own keymap, which includes the most important hotkeys for convenient and fast workflow. Users can create their own keymap or reassign hotkeys within Houdini's default keymap.

Set Keymap Tool

To select the current keymap, a special dialog window can be accessed via the Set Keymap tool on the Modeler shelf. Once selected, the corresponding set of hotkeys is activated and saved, even after restarting Houdini.

Hotkeys Tool

In addition to the standard hotkey editor, a special Hotkeys tool has been developed, providing a simplified window. This window displays only the hotkeys related to Modeler tools and radial menus, making their configuration and management easier. The Hotkeys tool window shows only tools that already have hotkeys assigned. If a tool does not have a hotkey, it will not appear in this window. Once you assign a hotkey to a specific tool, it will automatically show up in the available list. The image shows the Hotkeys window and the standard set of hotkeys.

Assigning Hotkeys

To assign a hotkey to a tool, follow these steps:

Exception: For tools from the Network shelf, you can assign hotkeys for both the viewer and the node editor.

Hotkey conflicts are common, so if a hotkey isn't working in a certain mode, find the conflicting action in the hotkey editor and either remove it or assign a different key combination.
