Backdrop is a special type of object designed to easily setup reference images. Many node options allow you to customize display options of images or temporarily disable some of them.

Sometimes when modeling, you need to temporarily hide the reference images. To hide or show Backdrop objects, use the Hide Backdrops option in the Display Options radial menu (Alt+D).
